From our Administrator

I hope everyone had a good time at the 40th anniversary. It is going to be a busy month for the Lodge. With International Convention in Nashville, Golf Challenge with Mississippi and the Legions Celebrations in West Monroe! We also have all our regular events. I know it is not possible for everyone to attend all the functions but I do encourage those that can to try too. I do know that Shreveport Lodge 2239 will be well represented. Our Lodge has always been one of the Leaders in participating in Moose Functions and supporting Mooseheart and Moose haven. We also are involved in Community Service and I want to take this opportunity to thank all brothers and sisters that participated in the MDA Horseshoe Tournament, as a participant or a sponsor. It always amazes me how our members step up when needed. We have some really great volunteers that help in so many ways. Most of the entire Lodge cleaning, yard work and repairs and all the cooking are done by members who offer their time to help. Without their help the Lodge would not be able to function the way it is accustomed too. I do encourage all members to get involved with your Lodge. Enjoy a sports function, come to a dinner, try dancing, and come to a meeting. There is always something going on so come on out and enjoy your Lodge. I would like to congratulate our first thousand dollar winner in our Friday Night Attendance drawing, Maggie Ritzschke, way to go. Until the next time always remember: Live simply,
Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly and Leave the Rest to God.
James Futch, Governor

Senior Regent’s Letter

Hello co-workers, another month has flown by and the heat has set in for a spell. Hope all of you have a safe but fun 4th of July. Please take precautions and be careful. I want to welcome our new members we just enrolled and extend an invitation to come out and join us at the meetings. I know by the time you read this, International Convention will be underway in Nashville and all our people from the Lodge and Chapter are boning up on all the new changes to bring back to us. Be sure to come to the meetings to learn with the rest of us. We still have some development chairs to fill and we need your support and participation to get this done. We can only be a successful chapter with your help, and need you to come out and join us for this year. If you have any questions about the Women of the Moose, just ask any of the Officers and I know they will be only too happy to tell you about our Fraternity. Each and every one of our members are important to us and are needed to make our year complete. I hope to see you all at the Lodge.

Thanks, Robbie Martin, Senior Regent

Last month I talked about some of the duties of the Administrator. This month, I want to tell you a little about the three Trustees and the Treasurer of the Lodge. These three Trustees must take a physical inventory of the Lodge Social Quarters every month. This means they must count all the stock and present this inventory count to the Administrator; so he can prepare an inventory report that is presented at the House Committee meeting. The Trustees also have to review and sign the weekly payout invoices. The House Committee envelopes contain all the payouts & receipts of the Social Quarters for each week. The Treasurer of the Lodge is presented at each Lodge meeting a copy of all the deposits made

by the Administrator. The Treasurer must review the deposits and sign one copy & gives this copy to the Administrator. The Treasurer keeps the

other copy for his records. All checks issued by the Lodge must have at least two signatures. Only the Administrator, Treasurer & Governor are

authorized to sign checks. As you can see, your officers are kept busy with the business of your Lodge.

As always, see you around the Lodge.

Ken Kaufman, Administrator
